SDG 13: Climate and Environmental Policy

This section welcomes concise and high-impact review articles addressing policies, strategies, and innovations related to climate action, environmental governance, and sustainable recovery, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (particularly SDG 13 – Climate Action).

The section’s aim is to provide a platform for critical reflection and synthesis of emerging scientific evidence, institutional practices, and policy frameworks that shape the global response to climate and environmental challenges. Contributions should highlight multidisciplinary perspectives, connecting climate science, ecosystem management, public policy, and socio-economic dimensions of sustainability.

Short Reviews are expected to:

  • Present an integrative and well-structured analysis of recent literature or global policy frameworks (within approximately 4,000–6,000 words);

  • Identify gaps, future directions, or innovative approaches in climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience strategies;

  • Emphasize transparency, open science practices, and the practical relevance of research findings for decision-making processes;

  • Promote international cooperation, policy coherence, and inclusive approaches to environmental governance.

Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English and follow the journal’s formatting and referencing standards (APA or ABNT). Each submission will undergo a double-blind peer review process, ensuring academic rigor, originality, and policy relevance.

This section is particularly suitable for early-stage syntheses, comparative analyses, and interdisciplinary reviews linking climate policy, marine sustainability, disaster risk reduction, and green innovation.

Perspectives & Journeys on SDGs

This section welcomes reflective and semi-formal contributions that narrate personal, institutional, or educational experiences related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Manuscripts may include:

  • Academic or professional journeys of integrating SDGs into teaching, research, and practice;

  • Reflections on challenges, lessons learned, and innovative approaches to promoting the SDGs;

  • Student and faculty experiences in adopting SDG-based thinking in education, research projects, or community initiatives.

Contributions are expected to be grounded in critical reflection and supported, where possible, by concrete examples, cases, or testimonies. While less technical than research articles, submissions must demonstrate originality, relevance, and alignment with the SDGs framework.

Typical manuscripts range from 3,000 to 5,000 words, including references. Submissions undergo editorial review and may be peer-reviewed at the discretion of the editors.
